TheraKine's Drug Delivery Platform
The key attributes of an ideal biological drug delivery platform include both safety and performance. TheraKine has developed this platform technology to satisfy all of the requirements necessary for local delivery - in the eye, or in any other organ or location in the body.
Topical Formulation
Using short release linear kinetics with a formulation that is compatible with liquid and cream formulations, TheraKine has developed a topical eye drop to allow quicker, more predictable healing after corneal injuries, transplant, and Laser Vision Correction (LVC). This technology allows incorporation of mucoadhesive properties, and may have future application to cosmeceuticals as it stabilizes the biologic drug in addition to enabling tunable sustained release.
Injectable Platform: OptiKine™
OptiKine™ is a resorbable injectable implant with two to six months of sustained release of antibodies or other biologic drugs. The lead candidate is addressed at Inflammatory Eye Diseases such as uveitis, and then Diabetic Macular Edema and Diabetic Retinopathy, by incorporating an anti-TNFa mab or fab.
